Tisanes Tea Rooms and Garden, Broadway

Dates visited: Thursdays 19th July 2018 and 18th July 2019

Tisane’s is quite a small tea room and can get quite busy.

Tisane’s Tea Rooms in Broadway, Worcestershire, is a small traditional tea room, serving a very wide range of leaf teas, an equally wide range of cakes, sandwiches and other meals, and naturally cream teas of plain or fruit scones with jam and clotted cream. It also sells a range of bottled beers. There are two rooms for those taking tea, plus a tea garden at the back.

Tisane’s is quite a small tea room and, despite having a small tea garden and as many tables as can reasonably be fitted in the two rooms inside, it can get busy on a pleasant summer’s day.

On my first visit I enjoyed some ham and mustard sandwiches, a cream tea with fruit scones, and a pot of green tea, which was all very reasonably priced at £9.70.

On my second visit, I chose a tuna mayonnaise and salad sandwich, coffee and walnut cake, and a pot of green sencha tea, for a total of £10.20. Slightly disappointingly, the salad was limited to what could be squeezed into the sandwich.

For those who don’t mind a walk, Tisanes is just over half a mile away from the Gloucester and Warwickshire Steam Railway’s terminus at Broadway Station. To guarantee a seat at Tisanes, one will have to walk briskly from the station to arrive before the many other passengers heading the same way.
