Teashop by the Canal, Newbury

Date visited: Monday 20th August 2018

The unimaginatively named ‘The Stone Building’ on what was once Newbury’s canal wharf.

The Teashop by the Canal in Newbury has an unpromising location as despite being beside the Kennet and Avon Canal it is in the middle of a car park, built on what was once a wharf. The unimaginatively named ‘The Stone Building’ is owned by the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust and in an original wharf building. Tea can be taken both in the tearoom, or outside on a terrace beside the canal.

Salmon sandwiches, green tea and a delicious chocolate brownie, all for just over £11.

Service was good and with a smile. Salmon sandwiches, a pot of green tea and a delicious chocolate brownie came to just over £11.
