G&Tea in Worcester, as its name suggests, serves not only the usual fare of tearooms, but also a range of items including gin, with their speciality being gin teapot cocktails. For those with more traditional tastes there are fourteen leaf teas and an extensive range of hot and cold snacks, cakes and cream teas, with everything baked on the premises. There are two rooms, allowing tea to be taken on both the ground and first floors.
At the southern end of Friar Street, this tearoom is close to the cathedral. It seemed popular with locals and tourists alike.
At the time I visited G&Tea had recently had a new owner, Laura. Her team were providing a good service, though the waitress. who admitted starting only a few days before, was very nervous. A substantial Ploughman’s lunch, Victoria sandwich cake, and Jasmine Dragon Pearls tea for £16.40, of which £10.50 was for the Ploughman’s.
